Our Services

Fur coat cleaning

A fur coat cleaning is not only for coats that are worn regularly. Fur skins naturally secrete grease that builds up over time, whether they are worn often or stored in a closet. This grease is the cause of the loss of shine and of wear over the medium term.

Our Saint-Jérôme team cleans fur, lambskin and leather coats with specialized equipment adapted to natural materials. No ordinary dry cleaning that damages their structure. Our team will tell you exactly what your coat needs before starting.

Samuel Manteaux 1958 follows up proactively for its clients: if your coat is stored with us, our team tracks the maintenance history in our system and contacts you when a cleaning is recommended, before a problem sets in.

What do we do that your local cleaner doesn't?

Specialized equipment for fur, lambskin and leather

Our workshop has its own equipment designed for natural materials. No coat goes through an ordinary dry cleaner, which is incompatible with the structure of the skins.

Fur cleaning

Cleaning is done in sawdust with a degreaser, which removes the grease secreted by the skins, the main cause of wear. A regularly cleaned coat lasts longer and keeps its luster.

Fur, leather and lambskin, in the same workshop

For an optimal result, we clean leather and lambskin by hand. No harsh treatment, unlike what some cleaners do.

Proactive follow-up for our clients

If your coat is stored with us, our team examines it and checks the maintenance history in our system before recommending a cleaning to you.

Prior evaluation of the coat’s condition

Before any cleaning, our team checks the condition of your fur to make sure no damage will be caused by the cleaning.

How it works

Drop-off and free evaluation

Bring your coat to the workshop or book an appointment online. A designer evaluates the condition of the fur, identifies the type of cleaning required and gives you the costs. No commitment at this stage.

Specialized cleaning according to the material

The coat is treated with products and methods adapted to its composition: fur, leather or lambskin. The equipment used preserves the natural structure of the skins.

Post-cleaning check

Once cleaned, the coat is inspected to make sure the result is uniform. If a minor repair is detected during the examination, our team informs you before carrying it out.

Handover with care advice

Your coat is returned to you clean, with recommendations on cleaning frequency and best storage practices to extend its life.

Questions and answers

How often should a fur coat be cleaned?
If you wear your coat regularly, an annual cleaning is recommended. If you wear it little or it is stored, a cleaning every 2 to 3 years is generally enough. Our team can assess the condition of the coat and recommend the appropriate frequency for your use.
I hardly ever wear my coat. Is it still worth having it cleaned?
Yes. Fur skins naturally secrete grease, even when they are not worn. This grease builds up over time, causes wear, dulls the shine of the fur and can eventually create holes in the skins. Periodic cleaning is therefore recommended.
Do you also clean leather and lambskin coats?
Yes. Our workshop cleans fur, leather and lambskin coats. We adapt the products and methods to each type of material. For technical coats such as Kanuk, we work with a trusted cleaner.
How much does cleaning a fur coat cost?
The cost varies depending on the type of fur, the condition of the coat and the treatment required. That is why we offer a free evaluation before any commitment: our team examines the coat and gives you a precise estimate. No surprises.
What is the difference from ordinary dry cleaning?
Standard dry cleaning is not designed for natural fur. The solvents and methods used can damage the structure of the skins and alter the texture of the fur. Our equipment is specialized for natural materials and preserves the quality of the coat over the long term.
